WORKING METHOD

And suddenly sometimes, you have it, a little idea.
For instance that notorious spring of '97, I saw a mug of Star Trek-icon lady Deanna Troi and found this idea to make an image of a female Trekkie having her coffee.
I eventually ended up with a TV watching woman, in a modern chair, with a "livingroomish" background.

Luckily I found somebody willingly to pose. Always very convenient, certainly in this case, because the light (of the so-called television) had to come from beneath. Such aspects are hard to do from heart (for me).
So I made pictures of where I hopefully could choose an usable one from.
When I was already busy with the painting, I found out that (you always will see!) an acquaintance was a real "Trekkie", complete with her own uniform. I just was in time to borrow a badge and a picture of the glasses.

The best photograph was cut up to place certain limbs in the right angle (f.i. 45").

Another supporting photo to show what's on the television....

....and ready.
Nice is the reflection of light on the forelegs, giving it a sort of "Beam me up, Scottie" effect. I didn't count on that extra...
